Obama used to live in a six story walk-up on E 94th street throughout his stay at Columbia University. John, 54, was unaware that Obama lived in Yorkville. However, he finds it interesting that Obama lived in his very own neighborhood. In contrast, Claudine,39, a Republician was aware of Obama's residence on E 94th. Although her views are diferent from his, she wants him to succeed. "We're all Americans" [whether Democratic or Republican] she says.

Most of the denizens of the neighborhood were surprised to learn that our president had once lived in Yorkville. Many stopped, as we interviewed others, in amazement. "Really? He used to live right there?". Most of the people interviewed were avid supporters of Obama and one woman declared "I love everything about him.". When asked what she thought the most important thing Obama stands for , she replied "Healthcare." John's rooting for him, but says he needs to cut taxes instead of raise them.
For most people, the realization that our President lived in their neighborhood during his college years was shocking. There were others who were nonchalant. However, the people who were excited, can say they learned something new that day. "Barack Obama lived on my block!"
