Public Speaking, Public Horror

Yesterday morning John Mckay, came late from the airport from to Harlem Live saying: "Sorry I didn't know printing pages would be 4 minutes each". It was OK though, I got to watch the last episode of Death Note before John came. The class was OK but John had to put me on blast sending me to public speak about directions on how to go to the 2 and 3 train. What's worse is that people got to see my so called "attitude", because when Adam responded to my public speak , I responded also. LOL Its on camera. But me and Adam worked it out he pulled me to the side and we resolved it, I didn't mean to go out like that.

The art of conducting an interview

Well yesterday i had two classes. One was Blair's interviewing class. It was pretty good. I learned some new things. We learned about the right questions to ask someone in the right situations. We paired up in groups and Blair gave us a card with info on it.
Based on that info we had to make up questions. I also learned to get background info to get more advanced questions instead of asking questions like where were they born, what their name is, etc. I also learned to avoid yes/no questions to get more in depth answers.

waarith

Today had another flash class. I didnt really learn anything because rich and them kept calling me and making me multi-task. But imma try to keep up so i can put my award winning work on TEAM AMBUSH (google us) blog. So yea check us out.

Waarith Class

This was a good class that made me understand macromedia flash better. i am happy that i got to learn flash or that i will get to know it more. Waarith taught me the basics of how to draw and make an animation out of the drawing that i made, he then taught me how to make in into a movie which it den move and play and all that. i was shock to see this because this is wat ppl used to edit there cartoons and all that i got to learn it. i do hope to take more classes on flash because it seems very good. By the way he also taught me the editing of colors and shortcut keys. Those shortcut keys do help because instead of taking so long finding something, you can just press like 2 keys and BANG the thing opens. ^_^

TEAM AMBUSH WILL RISE TO THE TOP !!!!

class with anthony

Okay so today was my first video class. I learned how in videos they have different shots. Like some shots last for seconds and how the shots consisted of wide shots, close ups, extreme close up, tight shots, and medium close ups. Video seems cool, but my heart is mostly set on journalism, photography, and web.

Chris Video Class

chris video class was really short and he didnt teach much; he did tell us about the diffrent types of actions you can take when you are filming and he made us watch a clip and made us explain to him what do we see? what happenn? etc... i do understand why he made point those out because we will need to know these things when it comes to filming our videos... the more we learn the better our videos will be; so even though his class was really short i did understand the purpose of it. maybe he will teach sumthing better next time. ^_^ jaja btw i dont take video but it actually taught me sumthing that in the long run i can tell me team members doing video.

class with katie

Today in katie's interviewing class we learned about ledes. A lede is the opening line that pulls a reader in. A hard lede is something that really gets you like " 5,000,000,000,000 people died ( God forbid) and a soft lede is like "apple has come out with a new product ( ibook)" yea so thats cool. And we were able to find ledes online or in newspapers. The one that really pulled me in was the pic of the iphone because i was planning on buying an ipod touch.

Katies Last Journalism Class

katie last class was very helpful, she taught us the diffrences between good stories and bad stories and i think that was very helpful because we know now good stories to trigger to get those points; so yea she made us look online or newspaper to find these good stories or bad stories, the stories that catch attention or the stories that ehhh people dont pay attention. with these tips from katie we will now produce good stories ( hopefully) but yea it is really good we learn this from her ; like i said we now know what not to trigger and what to trigger.

FLASH IS THE BEST

Today flash class was the best class ever I have learned so much and even know a lot but wont take in so much because then I will fail of over greatness so who knows I can even do a lot better next time. Maybe when I get older I can even create the coolest video games for people to play and I will be the the best creator of video games in the world but I wont let this get to me so much. DUCESZ!!!

Goodbye, guys!

Today I just taught what will probably be my last class at Harlem Live, as I just moved an hour away. It has been great working with you guys. For those of you I had in class, you've been a good audience; I hope you learned something, or that I at least made you think. I'm on the e-mail editor list if you need anything read.

I think it's really cool that you guys get to do something like Harlem Live when you're in high school. I stand in awe of your video editing abilities! If you decide to go on in journalism it'll give you a good start; if not, learning flash and Web design and video editing and how to speak and write well will help you wherever you end up. So either way, rock on.

WAARITH CLASS!!!!!!!

well well well...................This class was interesting!
Today in WAARITH class i learned about simple animation, change shapes/backround, frame rates. I also learned how to tween aka rotation and position. This class was like going to paint in your own computer and playing around with the keys of paint.I hope i memorize all of this when it comes to my video.

Katie Part 2

So today we took a class with Katie once again. It went pretty well considering I learned a lot. She taught us about leads. Leads are like the way headlines are written i.e. a hard lead would be, "Five dead in mall shootout". A hard lead gets your attention to things that have just happened like within hours. A soft lead would be something that draws you in but doesn't tell you too much i.e. Gloomy Day; that can be about anything at all so you have to read on. I knew about leads but I didn't know what they were called. After teaching us about leads, Blair had us look through various newspapers and find different leads. It was fun cause the ones we thought were certain kinds of leads weren't. I enjoyed the class because I learned something new that will be essential during the next couple of weeks and beyond:)

ANTHONY CLASS

Today in Anthony i learned about different camera shots.I also learned about the wide shot, close up, extreme close up, tight shot, medium close up.I also learned about the different camera moves. About this i learned about zoom in, zoom out, pan left/right, pan up/down, and rack focus. This class was very interesting because i have never had the chance to get this kind of information.

Video Blog

My video class today was okay but it was not very interesting  because I already knew about b-roll but hey it was a good refreshment though so I did not learn anything but hey I got a good refreshment though. I really thought it was boring because I have learned it already so I guess thats all.

JuDgEz

so the judges on friday were okay. i dont kno wat to say bout them.

Katies Class!

OK..............Let me start by saying that i have never seen Katie in Harlem Live.Anyways her class was OK. I learned about Soft Ledes.I also learned with her about what is a Lede, Anecdotal Lede, Scene Setting Lede, Then-and-Now Lede, Exclamatory Lede, Contrast Lede, Another Contrast Lede, A World On Question Ledes and about Nut Grafts and about what type are they. I also learned about how should i write a stories. I guess i learned the basics of writing a story.

It's T E E I L Y...silly

THREE CLASSES; journalism with KATIE. interviewing with BLAIR. video with ANTHONY.

today was a cool day and i really enjoyed the classes. another day; another lesson learned.

some of the staff members are MEAN =/

Yawning

Wat it do everybody i am at work thank god i get off in like 40mins. I was so bored after i came from lunch, i kept falling a sleep until i just started reading other people blogs. It is so hot outside that i rush back to work on my lunch break. I think what made me start yawning was eating like a whole bowl of rice and beans, i am so full. I came to work yawning already until a man nurse made me laugh by saying the day just started so come on referring to my yarn. At least she gave me some work to do today, not much but it still made me cheese. I started on another poem and my art gallery story which should be done by tomorrow. I hope Dashawn post my poem and when i get there imma need him to post my movie review i did, if he didn't i am going to beat him up. I am trying to do as much as i can since my team is not in first place. And i just found out that we have to make sure we show i think her name is Ashley our point chart or the points won't get counted. I didn't show her my point chart last week so i did things which didn't even get counted but that's okay it is my fault. At least i know next time, so i am going to show her my point sheet either today or tomorrow. I hope my team win again this week in the presentation thing and most points. We just need to step our game up a little and we got it. Well later everybody my blog is getting to long. I need to stop texting because it shows a lot when i write.

Interview class with Blair

Today with Blair was great because she had gave great tips for people that are budding journalists. She said that people should go along with the flow of their interview, case in point, if you asked someone a specific question and they said something extraordinary but you still want to know, then you should ask them to elaborate. Also she gave us sample issues and told us to come up with questions that would fit the situation of the problem. All the students had great questions that fit their topics. Also the atmosphere of the class was overall great because everyone was comfortable and people felt comfortable enough to ask questions when they needed to know something.

blairs class

well since im good with public speaking i guess i would be good talking interviewing people.
she told us that before we interview any one the following was very important so we dont screw up the interview.

1- do your research.
2- plan out your questions before u ask them.( making sure that you do not affend any one. that wouldnt be good.)
3- contact them.

well it was good that someone reminded me to plan before i did any thing because.... lets just say i get excited about things and they act on impulse.
